Thomas R. Greene (1937-2022)
Thomas R. Greene, 84, a lifelong resident of West Orange, passed away at home on March 16. Known to all as “Tommy,”
Mr. Greene was born in 1937. He graduated from West Orange High School in 1956 and went on to serve honorably in the military with the United
States Seventh Army in West Germany. Once home Tommy worked at Dun and Bradstreet in East Orange, and later for the State of New Jersey’s
Board of Public Utilities in Newark as a printing operations technician. He was a parishioner of St. John Roman Catholic Church (The Church of
St. John the Evangelist) in Orange. In addition to his devotion to local highschool sports teams, Tommy enjoyed spending weekends
and vacation time at a house along the Jersey Shore in Long Beach Township.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James B. and Susan Greene; his brothers, James G. and Peter A. Greene; and his sisters, Mary P.
Christiano and Rosaleen Duthie. Survivors include three nephews and six nieces. A memorial Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March
21, at St. Joseph Church, 44 Benvenue Avenue, West Orange, N.J.
