Obituary of Eugene Thomas Lee

Please share a memory of Eugene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

 Eugene T. Lee September 6, 1929 - January 30, 2025

Eugene T. Lee, better known to all as Gene, passed away peacefully at his home in West Orange on January 30, 2025. Gene was born in Orange, N.J. and attended Orange High School where he was elected class president of his senior year. After high school, Gene met his soon to be wife, Ruth Morrison, and enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was proud to serve our country. Now married, they started raising their family on the shore of Lake Seneca in upstate New York. They then returned to the West Orange area to care for their aging mother, showing their commitment to family. Gene and Ruth raised three children, helped to raise their niece Patty, and being animal lovers, also raised an uncertain amount of dogs and cats. After holding a number of different jobs, Gene had the courage to start his own business in the early 70s and through his determination, the business was successfully incorporated in 1978.

Gene loved the New Jersey shore and was able to reach his dream of buying a shore house and boat where he loved having as much family as he possibly could. He was the best joke teller and kept the whole family laughing. Gene and Ruth were married and loved each other for 72 years.

The love he had for all of his family and friends will be missed by all that knew him. Gene is survived by his loving wife Ruth, his three children Paul, Lorraine and Steve, Niece Patty, and grandchildren Douglas, Casey, Dia, Jonah, Anna, Julian.

Visiting for Eugene will be held on Friday February 7, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM , with Military Honors and the Funeral Service at 6:30 PM.

Entombment for Eugene will be take place on Mondy February 10, 2025 at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover at 12:00 PM.
