I'm so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. Truly a gentleman, Mike and I played a lot of softball together for a number of years. He always carried himself with dignity, courage and integrity in everything that he did. I always admired his athletic ability as a boxer and on the field. My heartfelt wishes go out to Michael and Matthew.

I served with Mike in the east Orange Police Department for many years. I remember when Mike was assigned to the detective bureau. He was always a dapper Dan wearing his white shoes. I’ll never forget you Mike God bless you and may the Lord be with you for eternity.

My main connection with Mike was on some sort of athletic field, starting in the mid 1950's as rivals on little league teams; that's where I first saw all his athletic abilities. Later, being teammates on our high school football team in the same backfield, I saw firsthand his fierce competitiveness, he ran the football with power and speed and could change directions in an instant leaving many a would-be tackler laying on the ground wondering what just happened... he was truly one of the greatest high school running backs of our era. Recently we reconnected on the golf course with our old friend Rich D'Aries and Mike's son "Mikey". He was a good friend and will be truly missed.

The grief and pain of this loss for all of us is almost too much to bear. The way I am dealing with it for now is remembering how much Mike and I made each other laugh with our earthy sense of humor. I was lucky, I could make him laugh so hard his ribs hurt and vice versa.
So many wonderful memories together as teenagers, young men, boxers, brother police officers and dear friends for life. The last time we laughed together was very late at night on the phone a couple of weeks ago.
Mike was a one in a billion kind of pal, irreplaceable and God broke the mold. Now he is with Donna my other best pal since the 5th grade together.
I will always miss them both,
Thanks Mike for being a caring, loving life long friend, I hope and pray to see you again Champ.
Love you and miss you,
Ron
