Obituary of Robert William Buoye

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Robert William (Bobby) Buoye, 63 passed away after a long illness on May 24, 2025, surrounded by loving family and friends.  He was pre-deceased by his father, John J, uncles Richard Buoye, and Andrew McGreal and aunt Arlene Miele.

He is survived by his loving mother, Carol A (nee McGreal), brothers John E. (Mary Jo), Kevin M. (Mary Kay), Edward J, Dennis P. (Denise), eight nieces and nephews, one great niece, his aunts Judy Buoye, Trudy McGreal, and Harriet McGreal, several cousins, his dear friend, Thomas Clearwater and too many more friends to name.

Bobby graduated West Orange Mountain High School and Rutgers University. He was a Senior IT Analyst for NJ Blue Cross/Blue Shield for 22 years.  Upon his retirement from BlueCross/Blue Shield, he was an IT Consultant and a Senior Associate of Clearwater Designs in NYC.

At some point, Bobby thought he might like to live in NYC and decided to try it out for 1 year.  Needless to say, he enjoyed the hustle and bustle of NYC and lived there for 20 plus years.  He traveled extensively in the US and Europe but his favorite place was Cape Cod, where he planned to retire some day.

He was an animal lover, especially dogs, and one dog in particular – Shelby. Shelby was a beautiful white shepherd and was Bobby’s constant companion during walks in Central Park.  Bobby was a monthly donor to the ASPCA.

Bobby always liked to have a good time.  He enjoyed weddings and parties, any time, any where that gave him the opportunity to perform his famous “airplane dance” (moving his arms in the air, keeping time to the music).

Our hearts are broken but we will always smile when we think of him.

In lieu of flowers, please consider giving a donation the ASPCA in his honor.
