Therese S. Venturini

June 14, 1936 – May 29, 2025

          Therese S. Venturini, lovingly known as Nani, Momma T, Mom, and Teri, passed away peacefully at home on May 29, 2025, at the age of 88. She was surrounded by her four devoted children: John A. Smitka Jr. (Christine), Gregory J. Smitka, Lisa R. Estler (Smitka), and Melissa T. Gangi (Smitka).

          Born on June 14, 1936, in Boonton, New Jersey, Therese was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose Venturini. She built a remarkable life rooted in family, creativity, and laughter.

          Therese was a gifted and successful high-end interior designer who owned and operated her own business for many years. Her artistic vision and impeccable taste touched countless homes and hearts throughout her career. But beyond her professional accomplishments, it was her sharp wit, infectious humor, and light-hearted spirit that endeared her to everyone she met. Many affectionately compared her to Betty White—a comparison she wore with pride.

          Therese's legacy lives on in her seven cherished grandchildren, Sami (Lloyd), Stephen (Zachary), Caleb (Amanda), Angelina (Wilmar), Hayden, Adrianna, and Christopher, as well as her two great-grandchildren CJ and Levine. In addition to her three granddogs Hottie, Bianca, and Scooby. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

          Therese's vibrant personality, unconditional love, and ability to find laughter in even the toughest moments will be missed deeply by all who knew her.

          Thursday June 5th 5-8pm at Dangler Lewis & Carey (312 west main St., Boonton NJ 07005) with funeral services on June 6 at 10:00 am at Saints Cyril and Methodius Church (215 Hill Street, Boonton NJ 07005)
