Edgar O Bury Jr

February 19th, 1936 - July 18th, 2025

 

Edgar (Gar) passed away peacefully on July 18th, 2025, at home.

Born in Orange NJ to parents Edgar & Helen (Warner) Bury.

He moved to West Orange as a young child where he graduated from "The" West Orange High School in 1954. In 1958 he married his high school sweetheart Elaine Hardee.

Together they had sons Paul (Nancy), Gary (Debrah) and Phillip LaChance (Rose). And a daughter Mary LaChance. 

They also shared 5 grandchildren Janine, Jill, Madison, Phillip and Connor.

Along with 5 great grandchildren, Alexis, Zoe, Payton, Nora and Emmett.

He was a member of the plumbers local 24 where he was a journeyman until retirement.  

In his free time, he was on many bowling leagues with his friends.  Playing games with and watching his children and grandchildren play was his favorite of all. He also volunteered at the Mayor's Program for Special Needs with wife Elaine.

He was very active at the First Presbyterian Church in Orange NJ., where he learned about his Lord and Savior. After it closed, he attended Brookdale Reform Church. 

Edgar is processed in death by his parents Edgar and Helen, his sisters Gail Hartmann and Pat Benjamin and son Phillip LaChance.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Elaine, two sons Paul and Gary and daughter Mary. And many nieces and nephews.
