Phyllis Ann Gaeta

Phyllis Ann Gaeta (nee Cocuzza), of West Orange passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, peacefully.   

Phyllis was raised in East Orange before moving to settling in West Orange to raise her beloved sons.  She worked as a medical biller at Summit Health.  She found joy in life’s simple pleasures reading, playing cards, baking, and late-night chats with her family with coffee in hand. 

Phyllis was the beloved wife of the late John Gaeta. Devoted mother of Christopher (Cara), Mark (Lisa), and Jonathan.  Cherished Nan of Lucas, Siena, and Sophia Gaeta.  Loving Aunt of Rebecca, Robert, Joey, Samantha, Dominic, and Matthew. Great Aunt of Lena, Ella, Charlotte, Serena and Louis. Predeceased by her loving sister Annie Balzano.  Survived by her brothers. She is also survived by her devoted and caring brother and sister-in-law Bobby and Carol as well as many other loving family members and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, November 10, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave., West Orange at 10:00 AM.  Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phyllis’s name to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave., West Orange, NJ 07052.
