Kayla Elizabeth Norvis
January 15, 2003 – December 14, 2025
Kayla Elizabeth Norvis, age 22, passed away on December 14, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with chronic illness. Born on January 15, 2003, Kayla was known for her strength, resilience, and unwavering determination. She faced every challenge with a fierce fighting spirit that inspired all who knew her.
Throughout her journey, Kayla became a powerful advocate—not only for herself, but for others living with serious and chronic illness. She used her voice to raise awareness, promote understanding, and stand up for those who could not always speak for themselves. She was a gifted artist, fabulous writer, incredibly witty and had a tremendous love for nature.
Kayla is survived by her devoted parents, Lisa Gazzillo-Norvis and John Norvis, and her beloved brother, Shane Norvis and forever loyal Great Dane, “Fred Rogers” of Kinnelon. She is also survived by her cherished grandparents, John and Kathy Norvis of Boonton, and Anthony and Karen Gazzillo of Kinnelon.
She will be deeply missed by her loving aunts and uncles: Anthony and Patricia Gazzillo of Hellertown, PA; Michael Gazzillo and Lise Despres of Clinton, CT; Robert and Laurie Norvis of Jefferson, NJ; Kimberly (Norvis) and Bob Goodwin of Hosford, FL; Kelly (Norvis) and John Kenny of Kenvil, NJ; Kimberly Cirillo of Wellington, FL; Karl Helfrick of Hackettstown, NJ ; and chosen aunts and uncles: Tracy and Scott Roberts of Kinnelon, NJ; and Nathalie and Kristian McMorland of Rockaway, NJ.
Kayla is also lovingly remembered by her cousins: Ryan, Connor, and Aliyah Gazzillo; Kyle, Amy, Austin and Blake Norvis; Richie Helfrick; Peter Goodwin; Hunter and Troy Grune; Madison Roberts; Abigail and Patrick McMorland.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kayla’s life during a wake to be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton NJ 07005.
Celebration of Life will follow on January 3rd, 2026, at 10:00 AM at The Emergence Church, 930 Riverview Drive Suite 300,500, Totowa, NJ 07512.
