So very sorry for the loss of your dear father. I was his secretary at Pru Securities (Law Department) and he was the best! Always with a bright smile and brought me mini muffins every Friday! He was a great man and boss. He loved his family, especially your mother, as when he went on business trips, he always wanted the next flight back home to see you all quicker! He will always be remembered!

Pete and I met Orientation Day Montclair State College, 1973. It was the start of a terrific friendship. Though we did drift apart as many friends do, we reconnected just a few years ago and it was as if time had never passed. RIP my old friend. See you in the next life. Mark Motley

Pete and I worked together for many years. When I became GC of the Fleet broker dealers Pete came to work for me. Together we worked hard,had a great team and never forgot how to laugh along the way. I got to know Mary at many of the SIFMA conferences they attended and we so enjoyed their company and their love for each other. To the family of Peter: I was so sorry to hear about Pete. I started working with him at the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office in September of 1980. He also lived across the street from me when we both were on E 83rd Street. I have great memories of many shared fun times! Please accept my condolences on Peter's passing. Dennis Geoghan

Pete was a wonderful friend to my husband Joe and me. We shared so many fun filled times together with our kids at their annual St. Patrick’s Day and New Year’s Day parties, as well as many other happy occasions. Pete was always smiling and telling a story, while Mary was laughing as she prepared dinner. You were always welcomed warmly at the Byer’s. I will never forget you or Mary, and the special friendship our families shared through the years.

Peter married my niece and turned out to be a perfect match for our family. We used to have a family party once year. He was always the first to arrive. Never quite recovered from the loss of Mary so early in life. He turned out to be a great family man although I am sure he was not always that way. RIP

Jim and I are so very sorry to read of Pete's passing. Pete and Mary became our close friends over the years in West Orange. We mourned the loss of Mary and now Pete but cherish the gift of their friendship. So many memories and laughter over the years from meals to sporting events and, of course, their annual New Years Day party. Our love and prayers go out to the Byer family and wide circle of friends. My condolences to the Byer family. Pete and I became friends a few a years back and I thoroughly enjoyed our times together. He would come in on my nights working and often it was so slow I would sit with him and we would talk for hours. We would share everything two people can share. We pretty much knew each others history, growing up, marriage, children, careers and especially his accomplishments. I looked forward to summer’s arrival knowing he would be back shortly. I will miss him greatly as my summers will never be the same. And I want to thank you Al for finding me and letting me know of his passing. That meant more to me than you will ever know. I first met Peter when he and his wife Mary were expecting their first child Kerrie at any time. As an Italian dating his sister in law Julie, I was quickly exposed to Peters sense of humor. Upon meeting him, in his best I talian voice- he asked me where my goop was aka goopolini. Peter had a strong personality that was always full of laughter and life. He laughed and cherished his family above all else, especially his wife Mary, their children and grandchildren. He will always be a special part of our family and never forgotten. You will be missed.
