Obituary of Denise Louise Cabezas

Denise Louise (nee Doty) Cabezas, 58, of Wall, formerly of Boonton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026. Born in Denville, NJ, Denise attended Boonton High School and later the University of Scranton. Afterwards she moved to her favorite place the Jersey Shore where she lived for over 30 years. Denise was employed as a Physical Therapy Assistant. A lifelong New York Yankees fan, Denise proudly lived in pinstripes (go Yanks!) and made annual trips to Tampa, Florida for spring training. Her favorite place to spend time was the beach – and anywhere where she could get some sun. 

Denise was a former parishioner of St. Margarets, St. Catherines Church in Spring Lake and a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Boonton. 

Above all else, Denise was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her loving parents, Mary Anne (nee Ruffino) Doty and Leon Doty; her cherished sons, Alexander and his fiancée Brielle, and Louis; her brothers, Leon Doty and his wife Rosemarie and David Doty; and her treasured nieces and nephews, Meredith, Elizabeth, Shannon, Jordan, and Jack. 

 Visiting will be held on Friday January 16th from 3pm – 7pm at Dangler Funeral Home in Boonton, NJ. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday January 17th at 10:30am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church in Boonton, NJ.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy V foundation or the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation.
