Obituary of Katherine Lillian Weltner

Katherine Lillian Weltner Obituary Katherine L. Weltner, nee Bernard, 89 of Cedar Crest Village, NJ, peacefully passed away on Thursday May 21st, 2026.

Born on April 3rd 1937 to parents Jacob Stephen Bernhard and Anna Hagemann of North Bergen, NJ. She married Carl F. Weltner Jr. on May 5th, 1957. She was a stay at home mother for 17 years, retiring from The J.F. Kelly Company in 2000.

Katherine lived in New Jersey her entire life. She lived in Palisades Park and Boonton Township prior to moving to Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains, NJ May of 2007. Katherine was devoted to many organizations throughout her lifetime. She was a member of Saint John’s Episcopal Church in Boonton, NJ, secretary of the Rock Ridge Community Club in Denville, NJ, the Sunday School Superintendent of Rockaway Valley Methodist Church in Boonton Township, a weekly columnist for the Boonton Times Bulletin, and a chair in the Morris/ Sussex Area Boy Scout Cub Scout Round Table Commissioner.

Surviving are her devoted children Glenn, Scott(Janet), Linda Savercool(James), Eric, Gail Hyer(John) and Karen Soricelli. Her loving grandchildren Jennifer, Kyle, Emily Sullivan(Corey), Ashley, Sean, Brian, Samantha, Brooke, Lindsey, and Nicole. As well as her niece, Danielle and nephews Kevin, Christopher and Roger.

She was predeceased by her husband Carl in June of 2016, her parents & brother Robert Bernhard, and her daughter in law Trina Weltner(Carlson).

Visitation for Katherine will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dangler, Lewis and Carey Funeral Home in Boonton. The Funeral Service will take place the following morning on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
