Jim was a first rate Judge. He was practical guy whose goal was to solve problems, not to expound about them so he could impress people with his legal knowledge. He was a down to earth regular guy. Great sense of humor and lots of good stories.
I learned from reading his obituary that his middle initial C stood for Connolly, no doubt the Irish Labor leader who fought for workers' rights a century ago. Jim firmly believed in justice for working people. He understood it was his duty to insure that the rights of injured WORKERS were protected.
It was an honor for me to have been one of his colleagues.
