Maria Theresa Colabelli, 73

Maria Theresa Colabelli (Casiero), born in Alberona, Foggia, Italy, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ at the age of 73.

She was raised by her parents, Rocco Giovanni and Rocchina Giovanna Casiero, in Orange, NJ. She met her husband, Michelangelo, at the age of 22 and married shortly after. They would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in November. Together they raised their beautiful family in West Orange, NJ where she lived for 45 years.

She is survived by her husband, Michelangelo Colabelli, her four daughters, Gina Colabelli, Roxanne Corvelli and her husband Gianni, Angela Gesualdo and her husband Giacomo, and Daniela Colabelli, as well as her three beloved grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Leonardo Casiero and his wife Phyllis, Matteo Casiero and his wife Debbie, her sister Josephine and her husband Gioacchino Colosimo, her sister-in-law Immacolata DeFranco, her brother-in-law John Colabelli as well as many nieces and nephews. Theresa was the guiding light to her family and all who knew her. She was always the bright spirit at any gathering and possessed an incredible strength and resilience to persevere during challenging times. She inspired her family with her love, strength, compassion and courage and she will be forever remembered by all who loved her. She is now at peace with God, who she loved so purely with all her heart.

The Colabelli Family would like to acknowledge the outpouring of prayers offered by countless people and those who played such an important part in supporting Theresa’s care. Our heartfelt thanks to the First Responders and the heroic efforts of the entire medical staff at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. 

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, a memorial Mass and Celebration of her life for family and friends will take place at a later time.
