Obituary of Mary Ellen Bogart

Mary Ellen (Giblin) Bogart, 78

7/23/42 - 8/8/20

Mary Ellen (Giblin) Bogart, 78 died peacefully on Sat, Aug 8th after long time with cancer & COPD.   Born in Montclair, NJ – Daughter to the late Michael Giblin and Nora (Morley) Giblin; Loving Sister to the late Michael Giblin (Jackson, NJ) and his wife Judith, and James Giblin (Verona, NJ) Viet Nam Vet; and his wife Jacqueline; Beloved Mother to Michael Bogart and Sheila Kelly; Loving and proud Grandmother to Patrick Bogart, Nora Bogart, and Brendan Kelly, USMC, currently active duty; Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary grew up in East Orange NJ, got married, and then moved to West Orange to raise her children.  She moved to Morris County after retiring from Essex County Courthouse, as Secretary to Judge Paul Vichness for 15 years.  Mary loved that job and the friends she made there.  Mary was proud of her Irish roots and regularly kept in touch with many relatives and connected with new ones via FaceBook to continue to learn the family genealogy.   She was known to all as a caring and loving woman.  She was petite in stature, but strong, independent and stubborn to the end.   She will be missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Visiting Nurses Association (VNA of Northern NJ).

Viewing service to be held at Dangler Funeral Home, 340 Main Street in West Orange– Friday August 14th – 4pm-8pm, with the Funeral Services at 7:30 PM.
