Ofelia Porras, 92

Ofelia Porras, 92 of West Orange passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.  

Visiting will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street.

A 10:30 AM Funeral Mass will follow at Saint Joseph’s Church, Benvenue Avenue in West Orange. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Mausoleum in North Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to:

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or American Cancer Society.

Ofelia was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia, moved to Newark in 1980 and then to West Orange in 2012. She worked as a seamstress for Trousser Textiles in East Newark for many years.  

Ofelia was the devoted mother of Sandra Matos and the cherished grandmother of Elijah and Nicholas. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters. Ofelia was loved by a large family and numerous friends.
