Juan Fernandez, 88

Juan Fernandez, 88, of Brooklyn passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.    

Visiting will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM, with the Funeral Services at 11:00 AM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street. Entombment will follow at Rosemont Memorial Park in Elizabeth.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Juan’s name to: American Heart Association 1 Union Street Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183.

Juan was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico before moving to Brooklyn NY in the mid 50’s. He was a Jewelry Designer, working in New York.  Juan loved Latin/Salsa music and was an amazing dancer and salsero. He kept a radio in the bathroom so he could start his day off with music as he got ready for the day. 

Juan was the beloved husband of 63 years of Freida Fernandez (nee Nazario). Devoted father of Doris Soto, Adriana Alarcon, David Fernandez, and the late Jose Fernandez. Loving step- father of Jeannette Sterdjevich. Cherished grandfather of Felicia, Christine, Sharon, David S., and Steven Cardona, loving great grandfather of Alma, Mia, Celenna, and Demi.
