Fredesvinda  “Frieda” Fernandez, 96

Fredesvinda Fernandez, (nee Nazario), 96, of Brooklyn, NY passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021.    

Visiting will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM, with the Funeral Services at 11:30 AM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street. Entombment will follow at Rosemont Memorial Park in Elizabeth.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Fredesvinda’s name to: St. Jude Children’s Research hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 stjude.org/memorial.

Masks are required.

Fredesvinda was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico before moving to Brooklyn NY in the mid 50’s. She was a homemaker, a devoted Catholic who was very much involved with her parish of St. Augustine Church in Brooklyn, NY as well as involved with the sick, dying and the homeless in her community.

Frieda was the beloved wife of 64 years of the late Juan Fernandez (10/19/2021). Devoted mother of Jeannette Sterdjevich, Doris Soto, Adriana Alarcon, David Fernandez and the late Jose Fernandez. Loving sister of Benilda Nazario and Carmen Nazario.  Cherished grandmother of Steven, Felicia, Christine, Sharon, and David Samuel. Loving great grandmother of Milana, Christian, Moorea, Alma, Mia, Celenna and Demi.
