Eleanor Shannon, 82

Eleanor Shannon (nee Knudtsen),82, of West Orange, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. .   

Visiting will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to:  West Orange Elks, Special Children’s Committee, 424 Main St., West Orange NJ 07052. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, March 22, at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave. in West Orange.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.

Eleanor was a lifelong resident of West Orange. She worked as a Claims Adjuster for Travelers Insurance in Edison. Eleanor was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries, West Orange Elks BPOE 1590.

Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Donald Shannon, who recently passed three months ago. Devoted mother of Don and his wife Judy, Ellie O’Hara and her husband Mike, Peggy Shannon, and Liz Shannon. Cherished grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 1.
