Obituary of Marie Elizabeth Barnes

Marie Elizabeth Barnes, 67

Marie E. Barnes (nee Pretz), 67, of Brick and formerly of West Orange, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022, from 2:00 to 7:00 PM, with funeral services at 6:30 PM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street, in West Orange. Marie was born in Orange and raised in West Orange before moving to Brick 30 years ago. She was a billing coder, working for Hackensack Meridian Health in Neptune for over 21 years.

Marie was the beloved daughter of the late Bernard and Edith Pretz as well as the loving sister to her late brother Stephen Pretz and late sister Karen Kutyla. She was a devoted mother of Nicholas Barnes and his wife Kelly. Cherished grandmother of the loves of her life, Serenity Joy and Nicholas Stephen. Loving sister of Barbara Groza, Debbie Pretz, Bernard “Allen” Pretz, Michael Pretz, Gary Pretz and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
