Obituary of Margaret Catherine Patrick
Margaret “Peggy” Patrick, lifetime resident of West Orange was called to rest peacefully Monday, October 31st at the age of 88.
Peggy was predeceased by her parents Neal and Helen (Toomey) Patrick, and was the beloved sister of John (Lois) and Neal (deceased) (Peggy), aunt of Susan, Jeanne, Megan, Christopher, Neal and Mary Ellen. Great aunt to John, Janine, Daniel, Erin, Patrick, Elizabeth, Jessica, CJ, Emily and Judah.
Peggy grew up in West Orange and graduated from West Orange high school in 1952. She worked for New Jersey Bell after she graduated from high school then proceeded to work for a private Medical practice in South Orange after which, she earned her real estate license and worked as a realtor for many years.
Peggy was a member of Saint Joseph’s Church West Orange and was a volunteer at the Dominican Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary in Summit.
Peggy truly enjoyed the company of family and friends, sharing memories, laughs and good times. She enjoyed bowling, feeding raccoons in her back yard, gardening, the New York Yankees, college football and a nightly martini! She will undoubtedly be missed but the memories she made with family and friends will live on in the kindness she showed, the compassion she shared and the love that she gave.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint Joseph’s Church in West Orange on Saturday, November 5th at 10 a.m. followed by a burial at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
