Although she wasn't really my Aunt, I did call her Aunt Mary having know her since I was a child. She had the sweetest voice and beautiful smile. My sincere condolences to Vicky and the rest of the family. May she forever rest in eternal peace. Love, Patty (Cindy's childhood gal)

Mary was one of my dearest friends throughout our 35+ year friendship. Her kindness, gentleness, generosity, endless support and encouragement were unwavering. My husband and I loved Mary and knew how fortunate we were to have had her in our lives. I have so many wonderful memories of Mary from trips to Italy and Spain to musical and theater performances and trips to museums and exhibits to our collaborations on cultural and educational events for the many associations to which we both belonged.
Mary will always remain in our hearts. Enrico and I send our love and heartfelt condolences to her family and, especially, to Vicky.

To the family of Mary Scholl,
We are very saddened to hear of Mary’s passing. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the entire family.
I knew Mary Scholl through our membership in UNICO, Orange/West Orange Chapter. Mary Scholl was a beautiful person, both inside and out.
She had such a big heart, very generous and giving of herself and her time. I shared many happy memories with Mary at Trumpets Jazz Club, UNICO events, The Center for Italian & Italian American Culture dinners, and when attending plays. Mary will be sorely missed by me and many others.

There are three memories that stand out for Kathi and I about Mary. First, is the night in 2013 when Mary, who was the first female president of UNICO’s West Orange chapter, was given the Center for Italian and American Culture Lifetime Achievement Award. She introduced Joe, Sandy, Kathi and I to Joe Piscopo, who was the MC for the night. We were very proud of Mary, along with Vicky, and the rest of the family. We have added a photo of the family from that night.
Second, is when the family celebrated Mary's 80th birthday, in July, 2015, by sailing up the Hudson River on a dinner-dance cruise. We all had so much fun together.
The third memory, in 2008, was when we took Mary to the Surf Club to hear Johnny Maestro sing. He put on a memorable performance and Mary was especially touched by his last song, "You Will Never Walk Alone." Mary was always a delight to be with--always smiling and loving a good time and a good laugh.
Mary, along with her sisters, Mela and Nancy, and their husbands, Rich, Joe and Frank, were like big sisters and brothers to Joe, Rick and I, as we grew up in Newark. They were majorettes at West Side High School and we played football. They taught us how to slow dance and do the jitterbug. We loved going to their house on Varsity Road when they all were married and living in four apartments, to "hang out" for hours.
