Obituary of Gary De Lucia
Gary Anthony De Lucia, 66, of Branchburg, New Jersey passed away on January 5, 2023. He was born to Anthony and Dolores in Newark, NJ and grew up in West Orange, NJ. He was an avid golfer and loved watching college football; he enjoyed exploring new areas, going on walks in local parks, and had a love for the beach. He most enjoyed spending time with his daughters, bringing them to the places he loved visiting during his childhood.
Growing up, Gary was the captain of his track team, and led Our Lady of the Valley High School to many victories. Gary obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Kean University and a Master of Public Administration from Rutgers University. Within his career, he was very successful in his many years of working as a compensation director in various industries, such as banking and consumer products at multiple Fortune 500 companies. Most recently, he became an independent compensation consultant. During his career, he was an active member of World at Work, Society for Human Resource Management, and enjoyed being part of many other leadership roles within his profession.
Gary is survived by his two daughters, Melissa De Lucia of Succasunna, NJ and Stacie De Lucia of Watertown, MA; his sister, Robin Murphy and her husband, Daniel Murphy of Livingston, NJ; his nephew, Daniel Murphy; and nieces, Jessica Prentice and Erin Rice. He is predeceased by his parents. He leaves behind many loving cousins and friends.
Gary loved to give back to his community and donated to many local organizations regularly.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street in West Orange. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
