Obituary of Robert Joseph Moreo
Robert J. Moreo, (75), of Bradenton, FL, formerly of Boonton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Robert, fondly known as Bob, was born to Helen (Muriano) and Norf (Moreo), on September 22, 1947 in Morristown, NJ.
Bob, was a 65 year resident of Boonton before moving to Florida 10 years ago. Bob was raised by his mother Helen and stepfather, Alfred Cianella. He graduated from Boonton High School in 1965 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the U.S. Army (1967-1969), & served in Vietnam (1968-1969). After Vietnam, Bob worked for many years as a U.S. Postal Carrier and a Car Salesman.
Bob is survived and dearly missed by his children, Tina (Adam) and Tracy (Robert). Forever cherished and remembered by his three grandchildren, Milania, Scarlett and Bobby. Step-brothers and their families; Alfred and his wife Kim; Raymond and his wife Kathy. His memory will be cherished by Vincenzina Moreo, nieces and nephews, & the many (many) friends that loved him. Bob was predeceased by his mother, Helen Cianella, and step father, Alfred Cianella.
Bob fought his battle against lung cancer with grace and kept defying all odds that were stacked against him. Despite spending much of that time in and out of the hospital, he never lost his sense of humor. Throughout his entire journey, he cracked jokes with his daughters, made silly faces with his grandchildren, and even pulled some light-hearted jokes on the doctors and nurses. He had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed. Bob’s vibrant personality positively impacted everyone that met him. Nobody could tell a story better than Bob.
Bob held many titles in his life, from Mr. Breeze, Muzzy, Broleio to Torino, but his favorite role was being Pop-Pop to Milania, Scarlett and Bobby. He enjoyed spending his free time sharing his love for music with them and chartering many quests for dolphins while cruising on the boat. Music was a huge part of Bob’s life and whenever surrounded by company you could be sure he would seize the opportunity to serenade the crowd. You could be sure he is singing in heaven with his friends and family.
Bob’s family will host a celebration of life service on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at Dangler, Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 W. Main Street, Boonton, NJ.
