Unfortunately, I was unaware of the death of dear Marion Alexander and missed the funeral. Marion and I were "travel" buddies when we were part of CUE, Catholic Urban Educators, which I founded while being the Assistant Director of the Center for Non-Public Education at Fordham University. Marion and other "charismatic" Catholic educators such as her good friend, Sr. Patricia, another long-time Principal at Help of Christians, attended each summer, and we learned so much from each other about laboring among poor and distressed communities. And, we laughed for hours, re-generating ourselves to return to the vineyard and give it our all. My condolences to Marion's beloved Joe, her son Joe, and compassionate and conscientious Mary Eileen, who has been very generous to causes of justice. May Marion's memory be a blessing.

May Marion rest in peace. My condolences to husband Joseph, son Joseph, daughter Mary. Marion and Joe were friends with my Aunt & Uncle, Bob & Mill Namislovsky. Through them, I came to know the Alexander family. I remember son Joseph putting away some 18 cans of beer once, while visiting my Uncle; I was amazed. I remember Mary was a nurse in neo-natal ward at St. Barnabas. Marion was trustee for my Uncle Bob's estate when he died in 1995. Marion carried out her responsibility in fine form. I live on Tremont Ave. in Orange and have passed by St. Joseph Grammar School many, many times. Each time, I would think of Marion, Principal there, hoping she was well. Now, when I pass by, I'll offer a prayer for Marion's eternal rest and peace. May God bless your family.

My sincere condolences go out to the family. Mrs. Alexander was the sweetest and kindest person I have ever met. She left a lasting impression on everyone she met. God bless. Her faith was always her guidance, and it was evident in everything she did. Will miss her.

I am sorry to learn of Mrs. Alexander’s passing: I came to know her when I was Chaplain at Essex Catholic High School, and again when working with the permanent deacons of the Archdiocese. She impressed me as a wonderful example of family devotion, of faith and of commitment to Catholic school education. Being the son of another Catholic school teacher and administrator, I recognized and admired Marion as a fine representative of that great vocation. May she rest in peace, and her family know the peace and consolation of our loving God.

On behalf of St. Joseph School Community East Orange, we send our sincere condolences to the family of our beloved Mrs. Marion Alexander, "Ms. A". she touched and inspired the lives of so many students, teachers and staff and families during her teaching and administrative ministry at both OLMS and St. Joseph. Her faith and trust in God allowed her to lead with dedication and commitment to planting seeds of the importance of education for the future generation and those who were to follow her.
We pray that for the days ahead the family and those who knew and loved Marion will find comfort in knowing she is resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Loving Submitted on behalf of St. Joseph School Community

Prayers to Joe Jr, your Dad and entire family. I have such fond memories of Blessed Sacrament. Mrs Alexander was instrumental on my conversion to Catholicism in the 8th grade. Thinking of you all from FL.
