Obituary of Marie Anne Pierre
In Loving Memory of Marie Anne Pierre
MARIE ANNE PIERRE passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital New Brunswick. She was 83. Born in Haiti November 12, 1939, to parents Mrs. Sylvina Louis and Mr. Charles Victor Stuppard, Marie Anne was the youngest of nine children. Marie Anne attended elementary school and high school in Haiti.
Shortly after she immigrated to the United States in March 1969 where she lived with family. Marie Anne met the love of her life, Gerard Pierre they resided in Orange, and were married for 41 years until he went home to be with the Lord in April 2018. She then settled with her niece Virginia Hyppolite. A graduate of a New Jersey Nursing Program, Marie Anne worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Windsor Gardens Rehabilitation Center in East Orange. Throughout her 38-year tenure with Windsor Gardens Marie Anne had a passion for caring for the elderly, where she retired in 2016. Marie Anne was known for her love for people. Although she was noticeably quiet, all you had to do was start a conversation with her and you would receive a big smile. Marie Anne had a humble spirit and she loved God, moreover, she loved to pray. As a retiree, she simply loved waking up to her morning coffee, slice of Haitian bread, and watching Family Feud, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune on television.
Preceding her in death are her mother Mrs. Sylvina Louis and her father Mr. Charles Victor Stuppard, her husband Mr. Gerard Pierre, and her eight siblings: Emile, Carmen, Maurice, Gilberte Therese, Andre, Nectar, and Emmanuel Stuppard. Marie Anne is survived by her nieces Mimose Stuppard, Evelyn Pinard, Angelina Williams, Mona Adolphe, Emily Jeanty, Esther Durand, and Virginia Hyppolte. Her nephews, Clarence Stuppard, and Pastor Boaz Stuppard. Additionally, Marie Anne is survived by a plethora of additional nieces and nephews, cousins, many relatives, loved ones, family, and friends.
