Karen Price
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Ann Price (nee Simpson)
Karen passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 12, 2023, surrounded by her family at the age of 64.
Karen was born in Newark, NJ on June 26, 1958. The family moved to Boonton in 1969 where Karen has remained ever since.
Karen met the love of her life, Keith Price, in 1971 when they attended the same middle school. They dated for the better part of their teen years, eventually marrying on May 15,1982. They bought their first home in Boonton and eventually had their daughter, Courtney, in 1988. Karen became the ultimate cheer mom following Courtney’s competitive cheerleading team, travelling throughout the state and the eastern seaboard.
Karen was a legal secretary for more than 40 years, most recently employed by Soriano, Henkel in Roseland, NJ. Karen retired in 2022 and planned on spending lots of time with her daughter and granddaughters. She enjoyed vacationing with her extended family every summer in Wildwood, New Jersey.
Karen is survived by Keith, her husband of 40 years, her daughter Courtney Marks and her husband Greg, her 2 granddaughters Madison and Mia Marks, her sister Linda Steinhauser and her husband Jack, her brother Mike Sulpy, Sr. and his partner Leeann, her stepbrother Joe Sulpy and his wife Linda, her mother-in-law Connie Price. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Karen is predeceased by her mother, Rose Sulpy and her father-in-law Gordon Price.
Karen also leaves behind her lifelong friends of more than 50 years, Carol Grant, Denise Cacciabeve and JoAnn Fasolo.
Please join us in celebrating Karen’s life on Wednesday, March15th from 3-8pm at Dangler Lewis & Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton, NJ. Church services will be Thursday, March 16th at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Boonton, NJ. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Boonton, NJ
