Obituary of James John Kromka Jr.
James John Kromka, Jr., 57, of Shawmut Montana, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. He was born in Denville, NJ on March 19, 1966, to Dolores and Dr. James Kromka Sr. Jim grew up in Boonton, NJ, attended Boonton High School, graduating in the Class of 1984. He then attended Valley Forge Military Academy in Pennsylvania and County College of Morris. Jim earned his black belt in karate and taught classes locally in the Boonton area.
Jim was employed as a carpenter for many years, subsequently developing his own construction business, Kromka Construction Company. He also was employed by Griffin & Howe, Inc., based in Bernardsville, NJ through which he generated a personal career loving the great outdoors. He relocated to Montana in recent years and built his dream home. He recently became a favorite substitute teacher in the Harlowtown and Ryegate School Systems.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. James Kromka Sr. Jim is survived by his mother, Dolores Kromka-Johnson and step-father, Rev. Harold Johnson of Boonton, NJ; and his sister, Nancy Kromka of Amherst, MA.
A memorial service will be held at Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home located at 312 West Main Street in Boonton, NJ on Saturday, July 29. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM with a prayer service at 2:00 PM. All are welcome.
