Obituary of Virginia LaSalandra
Virginia “Ginny” LaSalandra,93
Virginia LaSalandra (nee Crocetti) ,93, of Boonton passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 3, 2023.
Ginny as she was known to family and friend was born in Boonton to Nazzareno and Mary Ann Crocetti. She was a lifelong resident of Boonton meeting her husband in town and raising her family there. She worked as the Credit Clerk for Tiffany & Co. in Parsippany for 25 years before retiring.
Ginny enjoyed crocheting and made hundreds of blankets for family and friends. She also used this talent to help others by crocheting hats and scarfs to be distributed to those in need. Ginny and her friends created ‘The Crochet Club’ meeting each week to trade patterns and stories. Ginny loved teaching her craft to others and was especially proud when her granddaughters became her crochet partners.
Ginny was a great cook and thankfully shared her recipes for making pasta, sauce, meatballs, chicken wings and struffoli with her family.
Ginny loved game shows especially Jeopardy, $100,000 Pyramid and People Puzzler watching nightly, shouting answers and cheering for her favorite contestants. She was a little sassy with a great sense of humor and touched the lives of everyone she met.
Her joy was her family and friends and she adored her 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren visits from them were always a delight and brought a smile to her face.
Ginny was the beloved wife of the late Angelo LaSalandra. Devoted mother of Catherine Vecchiarelli, Sue Goldblatt (Bob), Maryann Scott, and Angela Fenske (Joe). Cherished grandmother of Gary, Krista, Adria, Jessica, Jason, Jamie, Autumn, Lyla, and loving great grandmother of Joey, Olivia, Jason Christopher, and Ava Rose. She was predeceased by her brothers Frank, Thomas and Robert Crocetti and her sister Cecilia Francisco.
