Q: What was one of the qualities of George that you loved most?
A: Mr. G was a tricky teacher. He loved being able to teach his students the art of the shop. He was a no-nonsense educator, which enabled him to mold me and many others. Going to his shop class was the highlight of the day. He was always willing to stay a little late to ensure you understood the day's assignment. Rest in peace, Mr. G. You taught me in the machine shop, and I carried those lessons with me throughout life. Thank you.

George was my Machine Shop teacher in ALJ HS. I’ve often thought of him over the years as he was a thoughtful, kind and serious teacher. I remember his stories about his habit of taking summer jobs in interesting places when school was out. It was a great way to travel and immerse himself in different locations while working to pay his way. Perhaps he not only taught me machining, but piqued my interest in traveling which I have done my entire career and life. RIP GG, You were a giant!
