Obituary of Peggy Ann Tippner
Peggy Tippner, age 88, entered into God’s eternal rest on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Care One at Madison Avenue, Morristown, New Jersey after a brief illness.
Peggy was born on April 14, 1935, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey and was a lifelong resident of Montville. She graduated from Boonton High School and the Presbyterian School of Nursing where she made lifelong friends. She was a Registered Nurse and was employed at General Electric in Newark, Riverside Hospital in Boonton Township, and Hill Top Care Center in Montville. Peggy married Rudy Tippner on November 3, 1956. They were blessed with 67 wonderful years of marriage, which included raising their 3 children, and witnessing with pride the growth and adventures of their extended family -- welcoming their sons- and daughter-in-law, 9 grandchildren, their spouses, and 9 precious great-grandchildren. Peggy and Rudy also enjoyed traveling, spending time with lifelong friends, picnics at Deer Lake Club in Boonton Township, and spending relaxing time in rural Schenevus, New York.
Peggy was an active member of the Montville Reformed Church for 50 years as a choir member, Rummage Sale organizer, and member of the Women’s Guild for Christian Service. Music was an important part of her life, exemplified by her participation in the Concert Chorale of Caldwell for 30 years and several years with The Presbyaires. Peggy was a talented seamstress and knitter, donating many of her works to charity. Peggy enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble any chance she could. She also made time to share her witty sense of humor with others, and be a friend to animals, especially cats.
Peggy is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Rudy Tippner; children Michael Tippner, Lisa Loher (Ken), and Karen Babecki; grandchildren Daniel Tippner (Jamie), David Tippner, Sean Tippner (Kate), Katherine Anderson (Bobby), Christine Novak (Matthew), Michael Loher, Denise Babecki (fiancé Neil Jog), Megan Babecki, Brian Babecki; 9 great grandchildren, and cousins living in Ireland. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Duane Babecki.
The family wishes to thank all the caregivers at Care One at Madison Avenue and Chilton Memorial Hospital and caregivers Joy and Janet for their care and support. The family is very grateful for the ever present generosity and love of neighbors, friends and family over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Montville Reformed Church (9 Church Lane, Montville, NJ 07045), Montville First Aid Squad (137 Changebridge Rd, Montville, NJ 07045), Montville Police PBA #140 (PO Box 383, Montville, NJ 07045), or a charity of your choice.
Visitation will be held at Dangler Lewis & Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton, NJ on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 2:00pm-6:00pm.
