Obituary of Andrew Joseph Berkery

Andrew Joseph "Drew" Berkery, Jr, 66 Andrew Joseph "Drew" Berkery Jr., 66, of Thornhurst PA, formerly of West Orange, passed away on Monday November 24, 2014. Services will be held on Tuesday December 2, 2014 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street at 9:00. Then to Agape Worship Center, 33 West Street #100 in Bloomfield for the Funeral Services at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private. Visiting will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Drew's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis TN 38101-9908. . Drew was born and raised in Orange, living in West Orange for 33 years before moving to Pennsylvania. He was a Sergeant with the Orange City Police Department retiring after 29 years of dedicated service. Drew was the past Vice-President and member of the Orange PBA Local #89, a member of the Orange Knights of Columbus Council #235. He was on the West Orange PAL Board of Directors and was a longtime coach. He was a West Orange Scout Master Troop 2 and Drew was also recognized as the Unico Man of the Year in 1989 for Community Service. He was an avid wood worker. Drew was the beloved husband of 44 years of Susan Berkery (nee Perry). Devoted father of Andrew Joseph Berkery III and his wife Johanna and her sister Mary Calderon. Loving brother of Judi Brody and her husband Eric, and Patricia Berkery. Cherished grandfather of Liam Patrick. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
