Peter Cetti, 87

Peter Cetti passed away suddenly on May 30, 2024 at Chilton Memorial Hospital. Visiting will be held on Tuesday June 4, 2024 from 3:00PM to 7:00PM at Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday June 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover.

Peter was born on September 2, 1936 in Newark, NJ to Peter Sr. and Mary Cetti.  He was a proud longtime resident of Boonton, NJ and a 1954 graduate of Belleville High School.  Thereafter he served in the US Army in the Korean theater.  He married his love, Shirley, in 1959 in Boonton NJ and they remained happily married for 64 years. Pete worked at Rowe Manufacturing for 38 years and was the UAW union treasurer during much of that time. Pete was a lifelong Yankees and Giants fan and an avid golfer.  However, his life’s passion was traveling and enjoying time with his family, and his superpower was making all he met smile and laugh.  He was a real jokester and loved singing silly tunes… all the time!!  There was nothing he couldn’t fix and was always there to offer his help to anyone who needed it.  He is survived by his wife, Shirley, his two daughters Lori (Tim), Susan (Greg), his four granddaughters Alexa (Mike), Meg, Maddi and Salem, his twin brother Joe (Carol) and sister Diana.

He will be missed by all those who have been fortunate to know him.
