Obituary of Janis Marie Grasso Borbas

Janis Marie Grasso Borbas, 69 of Montville, New Jersey, was taken into the arms of her Lord and Savior on July 9, 2024 after battling health issues over the past year.

Janis was a talented retired art teacher with numerous passions and leaves behind a vast portfolio of creative and unique artwork. She exceled in art education and earned degrees from The Fashion Institute of Technology, William Patterson University, and a Masters in Fibers from Kean University. Through her art, compassion, understanding and love, she touched many lives and continues to be a positive light for those who knew her.

Janis came to truly know Jesus Christ as an adult and was very passionate about her faith. She was active in her bible study group at Jacksonville Chapel and enjoyed reading scripture every day. Her strong faith in God comforted her and carried her through her illnesses to a glorious and peaceful passing.

Janis is survived by her husband Peter, her daughters Katie Borbas and Emily Thomson, her brother Joe Grasso and his wife JoAnn, her step mother Madeline Grasso, her beloved dog Daisy, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visiting for Janis will take place on Friday July 12, 2024 from 4-8 PM at Dangler Lewis & Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street in Boonton.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM, interment will follow at Rockaway Valley Cemetery in Boonton Township.
