In Loving Memory of Donald W. Lodge
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald W. Lodge, a devoted husband, father, brother, and cherished member of his community.
Donald passed away on December 6, 2024 leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and unwavering passion for the things he held dear.
Born and raised in West Orange, New Jersey, Donald lived a life rooted in happiness, love, and camaraderie.
A proud graduate of Seton Hall University’s Class of 1979, Donald carried his Pirate pride throughout his life, especially during basketball season. He married his soulmate, Cathy, 47 years ago, and their love and partnership have been the cornerstone of their family. Together, they raised a daughter who was his pride and joy.
Donald dedicated himself to his community as an officer of the West Orange Elks and Chairman of the Veterans Committee. His commitment to honoring and supporting veterans reflected his deep respect for their service and sacrifice. His role in the Elks brought him countless friendships and a profound sense of purpose.
A loyal fan of the New York Yankees, New York Jets, and Seton Hall basketball, Donald's enthusiasm for sports was contagious. Game days were always special occasions filled with excitement and hope, whether he was cheering from the stands or from the comfort of his home.
Donald's warmth, humor, and steadfast dedication to his family and community will be deeply missed. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Cathy, his cherished daughter, He is predeceased by His Father Frank Lodge, His Mother Genevieve Lodge, Brother Frank Lodge, Father-in-law Frank Kostecki, Mother-in-Law Nancy Kostecki, Brother in law Frank Kostecki Jr.
He leaves behind his Sister in Law Winnie Lodge, Linda Jones, Joseph Kostecki (Lori),Mary Kostecki (Carmine), Gloria DeFrance (Fred) James Kostecki, Dan Kostecki( Tammy), Nancy Kostecki and many Nieces and Nephews and countless friends, extended family and loved ones who were touched by his generous spirit.
As we say goodbye to a remarkable man, let us honor his memory by embodying the values he lived by love for family, commitment to service, and passion for life.
A Celebration of Donald's life will be held at Dangler Funeral Home 340 Main Street West Orange, NJ 07052 on December 13, 2024, from 4PM to 8PM.
A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church West Orange, NJ
