Obituary of Patricia Therese Coen

Patricia Frances Coen, 82 Patricia F. Coen (nee DiSturco), 82, of Cedar Grove passed at home surrounded by the comfort and love of her family on Thursday, February 18, 2016. Visiting will be held on Monday February 22, 2016 from 3 to 7 PM at the Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street in West Orange. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Patricia's name to: St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 8:30 AM at the Funeral Home, followed by a 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave. in West Orange. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Patricia was born in Newark and was the loving daughter of Josephine and Alexander DiSturco and adoring sister of the late Carmeline Sautter. She was raised and lived in West Orange before moving to Cedar Grove many years ago. She received her nursing degree from Saint Michael's Nursing School in Newark. Patricia worked as a Registered Nurse and nursing supervisor at both Hartwick Nursing Home and then at Cedar Grove Manor in Cedar Grove. Patricia was the beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Coen. Patricia put everyone above herself, especially her family, as devoted mother of Kathleen Tarlowe, Joseph A., Eileen Abromitis and her husband John, Thomas R., Patricia Philipbar and her husband Ron, John Michael and his wife Lucie, and Joanne Mauriello and her husband Mark. Cherished grandmother of ten who were a source of boundless joy, she is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews. Patricia was an amazing source of wisdom, guidance, strength and love to her family who forever hold her in their hearts.
