Obituary of Bessie Mildred Kelly

Bessie M. Kelly 98 Bessie M. Kelly, 98 (nee Beckert), of West Orange the " Stock Pot Lady" of Montclair the favorite luncheon lady on Church Street Montclair for over 30 years sadly says farewell to all her fans whom she cherished for 30 years with her son Robert and his partner Robert until the end, passed away on Sunday April 24, 2016. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 9:00 AM at the Funeral Home, followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at Our Lady of The Valley Roman Catholic Church, 510 Valley Street Orange, NJ 07050. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 225 Ridgedale Avenue in East Hanover. Donations may be made in Bessie's memory to the American Heart Association 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183 or flowers will be accepted. Visiting will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 3 to 7 PM. at the Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street in West Orange. Bessie was born and raised in Newark before moving to West Orange 78 years ago. She worked along with her son Robert and his partner Robert Penta at Stock Pot Restaurant for 30 years. Bessie was the devoted wife of the late Joseph Kelly. Bessie was the loving mother of Janet Makowsky and her husband Joseph, and Robert and his partner Robert Penta. Dear sister of Gladys Meccia, and the late Herbert and Harry Manochio. Cherished grandmother of Debi, Kelly, and Karen. Great Grandmother of 9 beautiful great grandchildren. Great Aunt to Mark and Scott Kelly United States Astronauts. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
