Obituary of Gerard Paul Kelly

Gerard "Jerry" Kelly, 76 Gerard "Jerry" Kelly, 76, of Roseland passed away on Wednesday April 19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be held on Sunday April 23, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street in West Orange. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday April 24, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 28 Livingston Avenue, Roseland, NJ. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jerry's name to: The American Cancer Society, 906 South Springfield Ave., Springfield, NJ 07081. He was born in Taylor, Pennsylvania, raised and lived in West Orange before moving to Roseland in 1983. Jerry was a Lieutenant on the West Orange Police Department, retiring in 1990. From 1990 to 2005 Jerry worked at ADP Brokerage Services in Jersey City. He proudly served in the United States Army attaining the rank of Corporal. Jerry was a member of the Essex County Emerald Society serving as president from 1972-1976.He was a member of PBA Local #25, the West Orange Elks BPOE 1590, the Irish Americans of the Oranges, a coach for West Orange PAL Baseball & Football. Jerry was the beloved husband of 47 years of Mary Ellen Kelly (nee Cupano). Devoted father of Darren and his wife Stephanie. Loving brother of Marilyn Bardi, Richard "Dick" Kelly, and the late William and Robert Kelly. Cherished grandfather of Gavin and Morgan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
