Obituary of Donald Charles Raymond

Donald Charles Raymond, 95 Donald Charles Raymond, 95, of West Orange passed away on Tuesday July 4, 2017. Visitation will be held on Friday July 7, 2017 from 3 to 5 PM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street in West Orange. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: St. Barnabas Burn Foundation 94 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday July 8, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave. in West Orange. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair. Donald was born in Orange and was a lifelong resident of West Orange. He was the retired Fire Captain of the West Orange Fire Department. Donald was a life member of the Essex County Retired Police & Firemen, the West Orange Superior Officers Local 228. Mr. Raymond proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was also a self employed licensed plumber. Donald enjoyed many months of the year on his farm in Poultney Vermont, he loved being outside. Donald was the beloved companion of Matsako Yamashita, husband of the late Dorothy Raymond(nee Gilham).. Devoted father of the late Barbara Raymond. Loving brother of the late Joan Hart, Rose Raymond, John Raymond, and Rocco Raymond. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and great nephews.
