William was born in East Orange, raised in West Orange and lived in Ewing before moving to Bloomfield. William was self employed, working in the music industry. He started as a DJ at Upsala College and was with WFMU Jersey City for over 30 years. William was the beloved son of Laurence Berger of San Francisco and Ada LaPoint of Union. Devoted father of Sidney Berger.
