Salvatore LaRocca, 84, of Montville passed away at his residence on August 19, 2021. Salvatore was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and lived in the Bronx, Franklin Lakes, and Chattanooga, TN before moving to Montville in 2014.
Salvatore was a record wholesaler and was co-owner of S&J One Stop in Bronx, NY. Sal was best known for his extensive collection of Brooklyn and L.A. Dodgers baseball memorabilia. He had one of the largest collections ever and was written up by several magazines and interviewed by ESPN about it. Sal was well known to many of the veteran Dodger baseball players and attended the Dodger Fantasy Baseball Camp year after year with his best friends.
Visiting will be held at The Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton, NJ 07005, on Monday, August 23, 2021, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday August 24, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 24 Changebridge Road, Montville, NJ 07045. Cremation will be private.
Salvatore was predeceased by his beloved wife of 47 years, Geraldine LaRocca (nee Buzzeo), who just passed away on June 25, 2021. Loving father of Dr. Nicholas Tullo and his wife Lucy. Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Alexander, and Veronica. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many close friends who will miss him dearly and considered him as one of a kind.
Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerlewisandcareyfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Salvatore’s name many be made to the non-profit organization Help Educate At Risk Teens at HEARTNJ.com.
