Obituary of Patricia Bozzo

Patricia “Patti” Dale  Abbott-Bozzo , 73, of Maplewood passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021.    

Visitation will be held on Friday September 17, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street in West Orange.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, Benvenue Ave. in West Orange. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.

Patricia was raised in West Orange and was an East Orange Catholic Grad, before moving to Maplewood in 1974. Most recently she was an Associate VP for the Commercial Lines Department at the Anthony Davis Agency in Westfield prior to retiring. Patti enjoyed marching in the West Orange Saint Patrick’s Day Parade with Project Children along with her four kids, being the first woman cub scout den leader at Tuscan Elementary, serving as a troop leader for her daughter’s girls scout troop, and coaching in the Cougar Soccer Club. She was a woman of faith who enjoyed planning women’s retreats for St. Joe’s Parish (Maplewood), a proud CCD teacher at both St. Joe’s and Our Lady of Sorrows, and sang in the church choir. She loved animals especially her dachshunds, a big supporter of animal rescue, was an avid Yankees and Hokies Fan, lover of James Taylor and The Beach Boys, and enjoyed hanging at the Jersey Shore with her extended Irish Family.  

Patricia was the beloved wife of 52 years to Victor Bozzo; her mother Alice (Pat) Abbott; Cherished mother of three sons Victor Bozzo, Daniel (wife Maria), Peter (wife Heather), and her only daughter Alexis Bozzo. Loving sister of Alison Galizia (husband Paul), Elaine Abbott, West Orange Police Chief James Abbott (wife Cheryl), Susanne McNeil (husband Fran), and her late sister and Irish Twin Leigh Blake and her late husband Ray. Cherished grandmother of Michael, Sophia, Sean, Vanessa, and Samantha. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews along with 24 first cousins. She was predeceased by her father Captain Jim Abbott and her husband’s father Victor Bozzo.
