To the Huber family, I send blessings of joyful recollections and remembrances of shared laughter in this time of grief.
Rosemary was a gentle and caring soul that always showed genuine interest in the lives her nephew, John D. Sharkey and myself, Michele Nowak-Sharkey. I still think of her each time I use the lovely platter she gave us as part of our wedding gift. It is one of my favorites.
Over 30 years has passed since John D died but the memories of family dinners and events come quickly to mind. All evoke a warm and cherished feeling.
Hugs across the miles,
Michele

Dear Jimmy, Johnnie, Mary and Elizabeth--I wish I could be with you to celebrate your mom's life. Unfortunately, I am in Washington this week. I do hope to be in West Orange before end of year and will connect. I have many memories of climbing stairs to second floor of your house and being greeted by your mom. She always made me feel welcome and was loaded with questions about the Wannemacher family. My mother adored your mother. They were the best of friends and shared thousands of hours and laughs. When I met with your Mom and Dad a few years back she shared the great memories and stories they enjoyed together. Thank you for being part of my childhood. You were great friends and influences. Because of Johnie I still lift weights five days a week but without the cursing. Because of Jimmie I always aspire to be a better person. You were so good to your Mom and Dad. All my best.
Eddie

My Mom and Dad come to the US from Roscommon County, Ireland, in 1955. Our family was adopted by the Sharkey family because my Mom's sister Shiela married Patrick Sharkey (Uncle Pat), the best man ever!!
As a young girl, my Mom told me I would attend Marylawn of the Oranges high school, South Orange, because that was where Rosemary Sharkey Huber had been educated. My Mom and aunt Shiela wanted their daughters to grow up to be educated women like Rosemary. Rosemary was an intelligent, kind, loving woman.
I became a nurse, not a teacher like Rosemary, but I stayed close to the Huber family through Jim, my beloved dentist. Over the years, Jim took care of my Mom, my daughter Lizzy (who died from cancer in 1995), Michael, (in kidney disease) John, Brendan and me. Jim was always there for me and my family.
I feel that Jim learned his work ethic and empathy from his parents and grandparents.
I know Rosemary is in heaven with her Lord.

Sincere condolences to the entire Huber family. May all the good memories of the
time spent with your Mom warm your hearts and bring a smile to your face during this difficult time. From the sound of it, it seems like a place in heaven was reserved for her some time ago. I have always said Moms are very special people, and I've always thought they make very special angels. Rest in eternal peace Mrs. Huber.

Jimmy, Johnny, Mary, Elizabeth, Kathleen and families,
So many fond memories of a very special lady. She touched the lives of all the Wannemacher's. Her Irish eyes were always smiling, and I can hear that "hearty" laughter now.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers!
With sympathy and friendship,
Bob And Deborah Wannemacher (and all the Wannemacher's of Grant Terrace)

My family moved 2 doors down from the Huber family on August 30, 1969. There began a lifelong friendship with Mary, the middle of 5 children. Although Mrs. Huber had 5 children to care for, she welcomed me with open arms and watched out for me every summer when my parents were working. She did this, not because she was asked to, but out of the goodness of her heart. For that I will be forever grateful. I remember our car rides to the town pool in her little volkswagon beetle with the red interior. All the girls squished into the back seat together. I spent many a day at the Huber house, with Jimmy referring to me as "Carolyn" and telling me to go home, LOL. I didn't listen. I remember Mum Mum (Momma Huber's mom) and Uncle Teddy living on the first floor of the house, and us playing dodge ball in the driveway, or hopscotch, jacks, whatever kids did back then to entertain themselves. It was a warm and welcoming atmosphere and I truly treasure the memories. I refer lovingly to the Hubers as the Hubershoe family, although I don't recall how that started. My greatest hope is that Momma Huber is now at peace and will continue to watch over all of her loved ones just as she did throughout her life. Sending so much love and my deepest sympathy to all those that loved and cared for her.
